Kamna's Words

Kamna uses factory floor words, and each word means one thing. Here is what each one means in the app.

Production

Lot
One garment production run from cutting to packing. What a buyer calls an order.
Lot number
A plain number for each factory that carries on by itself.
Stage
One handover of pieces or material to a vendor or to your own unit.
Sent and received
Sent is what left your factory. Received is what came back. Every stage has both, and Kamna never fills one from the other.
In factory
The pieces are with you, between stages.
Ready to close
Every stage on the lot has been received.
Style
The template for a lot: sizes, colours, piece requirement, target selling price and stages. A lot copies it once, when it is created.
Fabric run
Yarn or greige moving through knitting, dyeing and finishing until it becomes fabric in stock.
Cutting entry
One cutting event on a lot: which fabric, the measured quantity consumed, and the pieces cut by size and colour.
Consumption
What was measured at cutting. Never what a style says should be needed.

Stock

Yarn, fabric and trim number
The reference of a stock receipt. It carries on by itself when the box is left blank.
Trims
Labels, thread, buttons, elastic, polybags, zippers and the like.
Stock check
Weighing or counting what is on the shelf, entered beside Kamna's own figure so the difference is recorded.
Dead stock
Material marked as no longer usable. It stays in stock value.

Money

Bill basis
What a vendor billed on: the pieces sent or the pieces received.
Wastage tolerance
Your own percentage added to fabric cost at costing.
First quality, seconds, rejected
The three piece counts entered when a lot closes. Cost per piece divides by first quality.
Raw cost and final cost
Raw cost per piece is total cost over first quality pieces. Final cost adds your overhead percentage. Both are frozen at close.
Findings
Money matters Kamna spots in your entries, shown with the evidence behind each.

People

Owner and staff
The two roles. The owner sees money. Staff enter everything and never see a money figure Kamna works out.
Vendor and supplier
A vendor does work on your material. A supplier sells you material.
Reports PIN
A 4 to 6 digit code the owner sets. Staff enter it to open Home. It never opens money.
Other
The choice for anything not on a list: a stage, a construction, a trim, a category or a cost you name yourself.
