Yarn, Fabric and Trims Stock

How to receive yarn, fabric and trims, split them by colour, and count what is left.

How do I add yarn to stock?

Tap the create button and choose Add yarn, or open Stock, the Yarn tab, and tap Add yarn.

Enter the date, count, supplier, weight and rate per kilo, and save. Leave the Yarn number blank and Kamna gives the next one when it saves. A yarn receipt can also hold the mill, greige or dyed, the colour, and bags with kilos per bag.

How do I add fabric to stock?

Tap the create button and choose Add fabric, then pick Knit or Woven, the construction, GSM, supplier, quantity and rate.

Knit fabric is counted in kilos and woven fabric in metres, and the rate is per that unit. A construction typed under Other takes the class of the pill it was typed under. Knit fabric also carries dia, gauge, loop length and yarn count. Woven fabric carries width, reed, pick, warp count and weft count.

How do I add trims to stock?

Tap the create button and choose Add trims, pick the type, and enter the quantity with its unit and the total value or the cost per unit.

Trims are labels, thread, buttons, elastic, polybags, zippers, drawstrings, or another type you name. The units are pieces, gross, dozen, metre and kilogram. A trim bought in metres or kilograms is issued in fractions, to two decimals. Description, supplier, brand and colour sit under More details.

Can a stock receipt be split by colour?

Yes. Yarn, fabric and trims can each be received colour by colour, one row for each colour that arrived.

Yarn rows carry their own weight and rate. Trim rows carry whole pieces at one rate. Fabric splits by colour and dia, or by colour and width for woven, as a grid of the cells that arrived.

Once a receipt is split, every use of it asks which colour. A colour row that has been used or counted cannot be removed, so change its quantity or colour instead. A receipt already used without colours cannot be split later.

How are rolls and GSM recorded?

Enter the rolls that arrived in the Rolls box beside the quantity. A fabric split by colour has its own Rolls and GSM boxes on each colour row instead.

Each colour keeps its own GSM because dyeing changes GSM shade by shade. Rolls are a record of what arrived: Kamna does not count rolls down as cutting uses the fabric. Stock is always the weighed or measured quantity.

How does a stock check work?

Weigh or count what is on the shelf and enter it, and Kamna records the difference from its own figure.

The box starts empty, with Kamna's figure beside it, never inside it. Fabric is marked for a check when it falls to five percent of what was bought. A count of zero closes the receipt, and a closed trim receipt reads Exhausted. Staff can count stock, and the check row shows who counted.

What is dead stock?

Dead stock is material marked as no longer usable. It stays in stock and in stock value, but it cannot be used.

Anyone signed in can mark what is left of a receipt as dead.

How do I edit or delete a stock receipt?

Open the receipt from Stock and tap Edit details. Delete is at the bottom of that sheet.

Changing the quantity sets stock to the new quantity minus what is already used. Material already used in production cannot be deleted. Staff may delete stock receipts.

Who can see stock value?

Stock value is owner only.

Rates typed on a receipt, such as the rate per kilo of yarn, show to everyone, because staff type them.
