Closing a Lot and Cost per Piece
How to close a lot, and how Kamna works out cost per piece from what the lot used.
How do I close a lot?
When every stage has been received, the lot reads Ready to close. Tap Close lot and enter the close date and the first quality, seconds and rejected pieces.
- Output cannot be more than the pieces cut.
- A close date more than a day ahead is refused.
- A lot with sizes closes on approved pieces by size, and their total is first quality.
- A lot cut in more than one colour also lists approved pieces by colour. On a lot with sizes, the colours must add up to the size total before Close lot opens.
- Closing needs an internet connection.
How does Kamna work out cost per piece?
Cost per piece in Kamna is everything the lot used, divided by its first quality pieces. The cost summary adds five parts:
- Fabric: the quantity consumed at cutting times the fabric's rate, plus your wastage tolerance.
- Cutting: the cutting payouts.
- Making: the bills on the lot's stages.
- Trims: the trims issued to its stages.
- Additional costs: anything you added under Other costs, such as sampling or transport.
That total over first quality pieces is the raw cost per piece. Your overhead percentage on top gives the final cost per piece. Margin compares the final cost with the target selling price.
Where do I set wastage tolerance and overhead?
You set both in More, under Factory details. Kamna never sets them for you.
The wastage tolerance is your percentage added to fabric cost. The overhead percentage is added to the raw cost per piece.
What is fixed when a lot closes?
At close, the raw cost per piece, the overhead percentage and the final cost per piece are frozen on the lot.
Its pieces pass to your store, each size and colour counted and costed. The close date can be edited later, and a closed lot can be reopened.
How do I add a cost such as sampling or transport?
On the lot, tap Add cost and enter what it is for, the amount, and a note such as the bill number.
A cost can be sampling, pattern making, testing, photoshoot, transport, checking, or a type you name. Removing a cost takes its amount off the lot.
Who can see costs and margin?
Only the owner. Every figure on the cost summary is owner only.
Staff see the pieces and the stages, and they type rates and bills, but they never see what those add up to. See owners and staff.
